The Las Vegas Raiders are entering their first NFL Draft under the new regime of general manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll, and the team has a plethora of key decisions to make over the next few days, including deciding the future of tight end Michael Mayer.
Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported in March that multiple teams are interested in trading for Mayer and that the Raiders are trying to move the young tight end.
Mayer showed some promise during his rookie season in 2023, but he missed six games last year due to personal issues and injury. With the rise of Brock Bowers, Mayer's long-term future in Las Vegas is bleak.
According to Bonsignore, plenty of teams are interested in trading for Mayer, and Bleeding Green Nation's John Stolnis believes the Philadelphia Eagles should acquire the Notre Dame product.
"A trade for a tight end only makes sense if the Eagles move on from incumbent Dallas Goedert. Brock Bowers is going to be the Raiders’ primary tight end, so a trade of Mayer makes sense for them. He’s a better blocker than in-house candidate Grant Calcaterra, so if the Eagles do trade Goedert, they could look to replace him with a combination of Calcaterra and Mayer," Stolnis wrote.
A fresh start in Philadelphia would be ideal for Mayer. The 23-year-old could serve as the Eagles' starting tight end in 2025 and be a contributor to Nick Sirianni's offense, as Dallas Goedert has been a popular name in trade rumors.

Mayer has the talent to be a solid starter, but he won't receive that opportunity with the Raiders due to the excellence of Bowers. A trade to Philadelphia could unlock his game and lead to a brighter future for the former second-round pick.
Trading for Mayer would also make sense for the Eagles, as Goedert could be out of the picture soon, and Philadelphia should look to add some youth to the position group. A Day 3 pick should also be enough to acquire the promising tight end from Las Vegas.
