Raiders predicted to pair Maxx Crosby with Cowboys' $24M elite pass rusher with 52 sacks

The Dallas Cowboys are not in the position they’d like to be as the regular season quickly approaches. Tensions are rising, and it starts at the top. Team owner Jerry Jones reportedly refused to negotiate with Micah Parsons’ agent — a decision that’s sparked widespread criticism.

“The fact that Jerry Jones and the Cowboys believe they can negotiate a 9-figure extension with Micah Parsons without involving his agent says everything about the current state of the franchise. This entire situation is laughable from the Dallas side. It could’ve — and should’ve — been avoided. But instead, the Cowboys operated with pure arrogance, foolishness and stubbornness,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz posted.

This situation led to Micah Parsons submitting a trade request, expressing clear frustration with how the team has handled contract discussions.

“Still I stayed quiet but again after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally,” Parsons posted.

Trading Parsons may not be as disastrous as it seems, especially given the Cowboys’ cap situation. Parting ways could prevent the team from having to pay more than $130 million annually to just three players.

“If Parsons is prepared to leave, the Cowboys should see what they can get in return. They're unlikely to be serious Super Bowl contenders within the next few seasons, and paying more than $130 million per year for three players would be hard to justify if they aren't,” Bleacher Report’s Kevin Knox wrote.

In terms of a potential destination, CBS Sports’ John Breech floated the Las Vegas Raiders as an ideal trade partner.

“Pairing Parsons with Maxx Crosby, the player he is tied with for most quarterback pressures in the NFL since 2021, would give Las Vegas the most fearsome pass rush duo in the NFL,” Breech wrote.

A Parsons-Crosby duo would be a nightmare for opposing offensive lines and a dream for Raiders fans. Adding Parsons to a defense that already features a dominant veteran like Crosby would instantly raise Las Vegas’ ceiling — and quite possibly their expectations for the future.
