Three teams that figure to be in the wide receiver market this offseason are the Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins.
The Raiders have the most dire situation, as they don't have anything close to a No. 1 wide receiver to take some pressure off Brock Bowers, and they are lacking depth, which is bad news for a team set to draft a quarterback No. 1 overall.
Las Vegas' current top three are Tre Tucker, Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton. Tucker is the most established of those three but is best suited as a No. 3 target, and Bech and Thornton remain unproven after disappointing rookie campaigns.
In Denver, the Broncos have Courtland Sutton and a bunch of promising young pass-catchers, but those youngsters are unproven and another veteran is needed.
The Dolphins cut Tyreek Hill, leaving Jaylen Waddle and not much else. With Miami rebuilding, it makes sense to add more young talent at the position, but adding a veteran to bridge the gap makes sense, also.
One player all three teams should have an eye on is Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney, who was named a cut candidate by NBC Sports' Kyle Dvorchak.
Mooney’s three-year deal looked like a steal for the Falcons after one season in Atlanta. Things did not go smoothly in year two, when Mooney plummeted to 443 yards and one score at a dismal 6.2 yards per target. Atlanta could ride out his deal in hopes of a rebound, especially with Kyle Pitts potentially leaving in free agency. They could also cut him in the hopes of extending Pitts, who will be their de facto WR2.
Mooney signed a three-year, $39 million contract in 2024 and had a fantastic first year in Atlanta, when he totaled 992 yards and five scores.
However, Mooney battled injury in 2025 and didn't have nearly the same chemistry with Michael Penix Jr. as he had with Kirk Cousins en route to a lackluster 443 yards and one touchdown.
With the Falcons needing more cap space and likely hoping to re-sign Kyle Pitts, who could prove to be expensive, Mooney could very well be on the chopping block.
While Mooney wouldn't check the box of the No. 1 receiver the Raiders need, he would be a strong veteran depth option, which is another box Las Vegas needs to check in order to help Fernando Mendoza.
Mooney may not move the needle all that much in Denver, but if the Broncos go all out and bring in two veteran wideouts, Mooney would be a logical choice to be the lesser of the two additions. We could also see him being a last-ditch effort for the Broncos if all else fails and Denver strikes out on bigger moves.
With their near-empty wide receivers room, the Dolphins need to consider all of the options available. Mooney would be perfect as a one-year bridge option while the Dolphins rebuild and figure things out for the long haul.
