Radical lefty agitators ambushed a Los Angeles Police Commission meeting Tuesday, screaming obscenities at officers and accusing the department of being murderers — before viciously turning on a California Post journalist.
Around 40 agitators — many of them obscuring their identity with medical masks or keffiyeh scarves — chanted “f–k the police,” assailed officers as “pigs” and shouted anti-law enforcement slogans as their increasingly disruptive antics brought the proceedings to a grinding halt until order was eventually restored a short time later.
The unhinged radicals tried to use their intimidation tactics against Post reporter Jamie Paige, who was covering the public meeting, peppering her with insults and attempting to physically block her camera.
Members of the mob repeatedly refused to comment when given the opportunity, instead attempting to quash her freedom of the press by angrily yelling at her.
”You are afraid of me, aren’t you?” one well-known agitator, Jason Reedy, seethed, his baby in his arms and his other kid nearby.
A large number of the disruptors were familiar faces who make a living sabotaging public meetings in service of their chaos-sowing agenda, shouting down officials and stifling any public discourse that doesn’t comport to their warped worldviews.
The coordinated interruption ignited after Commissioner Rasha Gerges Shields quizzed LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell over a recent court ruling restricting the department’s use of certain “less-lethal” crowd-control munitions, including 40mm projectile launchers.
He said although demonstrations in the city have been “primarily peaceful” since the ruling, the restrictions remove tools used to create distance and avoid deadly force encounters from officers’ hands, and that the department is exploring alternatives.
Then came public comment — a portion of the agenda governed by strict time limits and rules barring profanity, personal attacks and disruptions.
Those rules didn’t last long, as the triggered paid agitators seized the open forum as an opportunity to soapbox.
One after another, speakers cursed at commissioners and police, repeatedly yelling “f–k the police,” calling officers “pigs,” and branding the department a “murdering organization.”
Chants echoed across the room. One speaker screamed, “Record the pigs. Do not record the people,” as others shouted over staffers desperately trying to restore order.
Several of the loudest voices were not new to City Hall.
Many of the activists who derailed the meeting had recently been guests at Los Angeles City Hall for a city-sanctioned presentation hosted by left-wing DSA Councilwoman Eunisses Hernandez, a crossover that underscored the growing tension between city official-endorsed activism and the breakdown of order inside official oversight hearings.
One of the most incendiary speakers was activist Reedy, who had his young daughter by his side as he spewed anti-cop invective from the podium, repeatedly referred to officers as “pigs” and accused the department of systemic cover-ups.
“Jim McDonnell constantly parachutes into communities claiming the LAPD is the most transparent pig department in the nation,” Reedy said, calling it “a white-face lie — or should I say, a pink-face lie.”
The disruption escalated beyond the podium.
At one point, a woman not affiliated with the group addressed the commission and said she felt unsafe amid the shouting and hostility bubbling up in the room.
“I feel threatened, harassed, and I want to request a citizen’s arrest,” she said, standing her ground as protesters hurled insults her way in an attempt to shout her down.
“These people are bullies,” she said. “The last time I was here, I got laughed at and bullied by two ladies.”
As the chaos reached a fever pitch, commission staff repeatedly warned audience members to stop interrupting speakers.
“I’m going to ask you to not be disruptive anymore,” one staffer said as heckling continued.

At one point, a representative from the Sidewalk Project — a controversial activist group contracted by the city to hand out taxpayer-funded syringes and crack pipes at notorious drug den MacArthur Park — took the microphone to accuse cops of “rape, torture and murder” in the killing of transgender sex worker Linda Becerra Moran.
Moran was fatally shot by officers responding to a call she made Feb. 7 claiming she had been kidnapped after she rushed at them while armed with a knife and refused orders to drop the weapon, police said.
The Board of Police Commissioners, created in the 1920s, is composed of five civilian members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council. It serves as the city’s primary civilian oversight body for the Los Angeles Police Department.
The weekly meetings have been a frequent scene for disruptions by anti-cop radical activist groups.
