R Ashwin hilariously reacts after a fan asks him about 'leaking' CSK's IPL 2026 auction picks

Former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spinner R Ashwin was very active on social media ahead of the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction. He posted multiple cryptic memes to predict the players who could be in great demand.

Ashwin also shared multiple posts during the auction, which included a few predictions for CSK. On Wednesday, December 17, a fan cheekily asked the legendary spinner how he was feeling after leaking the Chennai-based side's auction picks. He wrote on X:

"Ash anna how happy u r after leaking all the csk picks @ashwinravi99?"

Ashwin hilariously responded by asking how the fans believed the false theories. The 39-year-old replied:

"How are you guys able to believe these lies?"

It is worth mentioning that R Ashwin returned to CSK after being signed for ₹9.75 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. He played nine matches and finished with seven scalps at an economy rate of 9.12.

The five-time champions endured their worst-ever campaign, finishing at the bottom of the table for the first time. The crafty spinner announced his IPL retirement in August 2025.

Uncapped Indian youngsters Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma became the joint-most expensive uncapped players in the IPL auction. CSK roped in the two players for ₹14.2 crore each.

CSK were involved in an intense bidding war for the players, eventually outbidding SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on both occasions. A fan shared screenshots of R Ashwin's tweets about CSK potentially going all out for Prashant and Kartik at the IPL 2026 auction.

The fan suggested that Ashwin's tweets ruined CSK's combination.

The seasoned campaigner replied sarcastically by remarking that SRH relied on his social media posts despite having a star-studded think tank on the auction table.

Ashwin responded by writing:

"The Orange Army had Muralitharan, Vettori, Analysts and scouts sitting at the table and yet showed faith in my tweets."

CSK went into the auction with a purse of ₹43.40 crore. Apart from Prashant and Kartik, they snapped up Rahul Chahar (₹5.20 crore), Matt Henry (₹2 crore), Akeal Hosein (₹2 crore), Matthew Short (₹1.50 crore), Zak Foulkes (₹75 lakh), Sarfaraz Khan (₹75 lakh) and Aman Khan (₹40 lakh).
