‘Queen of South By’: Kate Mara Premieres Three Movies at This Year’s Festival – SXSW 2025

Kate Mara puts the ‘work’ in working actress. This year at SXSW, the House of Cards star premiered not 1, not 2, but 3 separate films. As if that weren’t impressive enough, Mara’s 4th film of 2025, Easy’s Waltz just had its premiere last month at the Toronto International Film Festival.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge Mara’s range in these films as they are quite different. The Astronaut is a full on sci-fi thriller. Friendship is a dark comedy. And The Dutchman is a drama based on the 1964 play by the same name.
