Puka Nacua's Week 7 outlook for Rams gets troubling update amid ankle injury

2 hours ago 2

The Los Angeles Rams are staring down the barrel of not having star wide receiver Puka Nacua for the Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

Nacua suffered an ankle injury in the Week 6 win over the Baltimore Ravens, and while he did return after exiting Nacua had his snaps limited the rest of the game and now faces the possibility of sitting out this week.

The good news is, Nacua has avoided a serious injury. The bad news is, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, it looks like he's going to miss at least one game.

Puka Nacua injury update

Fowler says Nacua is a "long shot" to play on Sunday against Jacksonville.

"The Rams head to London with uncertainty around the league's receptions leader," Fowler wrote. "Receiver Puka Nacua avoided major damage to his ankle Sunday against Baltimore, but the people I've talked to believe he is a long shot Sunday against Jacksonville.

"Los Angeles gets a much-needed bye week after that, giving Nacua and others the chance to heal. Nacua's physical style of play could lead the Rams to sit him," he added.

Unfortunately, all indications from reports in the wake of Nacua's injury is that he's going to miss time, although it remains to be seen how much exactly.

If Nacua doesn't play this week, he'll get an extra week to rest up without having to miss another game thanks to a Week 8 bye. The Rams will hope Nacua is right by Week 9, when Los Angeles hosts the New Orleans Saints.

If Nacua can't go, Davante Adams will become Matthew Stafford's No. 1 wide receiver. Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell, who missed last week's game because of injury, would also get significant bumps.
