PSG want Champions League goal machine if Bundesliga rivals miss UCL target

Paris Saint-Germain have identified Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy as a key attacking target for the upcoming transfer window.

According to Sport Bild, which was further disseminated by RMC Sport, PSG manager Luis Enrique has made the Guinean forward his number one striker priority.

Guirassy, 29, has enjoyed a sensational debut season at Dortmund, scoring 33 goals and providing 9 assists in 44 matches across all competitions.

In Europe alone, Guirassy has scored 13 goals, which put him joint-top scorer in the UEFA Champions League currently, level with Barcelona’s Raphinha.

His form and style of play have drawn comparisons to former Bundesliga legend Robert Lewandowski, especially for his movement and clinical finishing.

Despite PSG’s interest, a transfer isn’t straightforward. Guirassy has a €70 million release clause, but it is reportedly only valid for select clubs: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

PSG are not on that list, meaning the French champions would have to negotiate directly with Dortmund.

Guirassy, who joined Dortmund from Stuttgart last summer, is said to be open to staying at the club. But that could change if Dortmund fail to make Champions League.

With one Bundesliga match remaining, Dortmund sit fifth with 54 points, trailing SC Freiburg (55 points) in the fourth and final Champions League spot.

If Dortmund fail to break into the top four, the door could open for PSG to pursue one of Europe’s most prolific forwards.
