PSG is closing in on its first signing of the summer, with 18-year-old goalkeeper Renato Marin set to join from AS Roma on a free transfer.
The Italian-Brazilian shot-stopper, who was born in Sao Paulo and represents Italy at under-19 level, will become a PSG player after his contract ends on June 30.
According to L’Equipe, Marin has agreed to a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 champions. While the deal has been made, Roma has refused to release him early, meaning Marin will not be part of PSG’s Club World Cup squad.
Marin joined Roma’s youth setup in 2022 and quickly established himself as one of the most promising young keepers in Italian football.
His departure will be a big loss for the Giallorossi, who had hoped to retain him beyond his contract.
What Renato Marin signing means for PSG?
Renato Marin signing will intensify the goalkeeping conundrum at the Parc des Princes. The Italian will become the fifth senior goalkeeper on the club’s books, adding pressure to an already crowded department.
