PSG could see Korean star depart for €30M fee to Atletico Madrid

There's almost nothing that Paris Saint-Germain has to improve on in the offseason, as the French club is defending back-to-back European champions, with the squad harboring immense talent, including the reigning Ballon d'Or winner, Ousmane Dembele.

There's not much to improve on. But this level of success attracts people looking to get a piece of it, whether they're a coach or a player, as in Atletico Madrid's pursuit of Kang In-Lee, who has been in the French capital for three seasons.

As reported by French journalist Romain Collet Gaudin, the Korean forward has reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid, with the main hurdle in the way of the deal being done sitting on the club level, with a fee of € 30M being tossed around. Lee has found himself in a bit of a lesser role in Luis Enrique's system, having appeared in 1815 minutes for the Parisians last season, which is a reduction from where he was at in the last two seasons with the French champions.

Granted, Lee is making his time on the pitch count, recording nine goal contributions through his 38 games last season, netting four goals of his own with five assists. With the likes of Bradley Barcola, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and the aforementioned Dembele, all taking up spots in the attacking department, it would make sense for Lee to want to exit in search of further playing time.

Given that the Korean is a back-to-back European champion, it'd be safe to say that Champions League football is at the top of his list of requirements for future suitors, but that shouldn't be an issue for the Madrid-based club, who haven't failed to qualify for the competition since the 2011-12 season.

For now, Lee will continue his journey with the Korean National Team, as they prepare for the third match of their group stage schedule in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. While the Parisian forward hasn't found the back of the net during the Tigers' opening two matches of the group stage, he has notched an assist in their tournament opener against the Czech Republic.
