Round 1: Taylor with a good body shot before landing upstairs. Another body shot from Taylor as he backs Simms up to the ropes. Taylor continues to walk him down, landing to the body with authority. More shots to the midsection for Taylor, while Simms throws pitter-patter combinations with little impact.

Round 2: Taylor on the front foot, backing Simms up to the ropes as he batters the body with uppercuts. Stiff jabs and a one-two find the mark as he shuffles forward. Simms lands with a few shots of his own, targeting Taylor's head with a one-two. Unfortunately for him, Taylor remains unaffected.

Round 3: Simms starts the round more aggressively, tagging him with uppercuts to the body. Taylor gestures for the crowd to react to the fight as he storms forward with a heavy combination. Simms eats it all though. Simms lands with an uppercut, while Taylor snipes him with a one-two.

Combinations for Taylor, who follows up with jabs and straights. More showboating from Taylor, who is now getting booed by fans who are hungry for more action. One-two for Taylor.

Round 4: Jabs and body shots for Taylor, who follows up with yet another shot to the midsection, this time an uppercut. Taylor with a jab as he backs Simms up to the ropes. A brief clinch ensues before they separate. Simms lands his own jab, but can't keep Taylor off of him.

Short combinations from Taylor, who isn't throwing with as much power as before. He strings together another combination, targeting both the body and head. More body shots from Taylor, forcing Simms to clinch for a breather.

Round 5: Taylor pokes Simms in the body and head with jabs. Simms hasn't given up on himself, though. Taylor continues to showboat, landing 'no look' punches as he taunts his opponent. Jabs and combinations to the body land for Taylor, but the fight hasn't been an impressive showing for him.

Many expeted him to have stopped Simms by now, yet he's failed to even hurt him at all. Body shots land for Taylor, who continues to back Simms up. Jabs from Simms, who eats a big right hand from Taylor.

Round 6: A one-two from Taylor starts the round off, as he follows up with body shots. Simms pulls him into the clinch against the ropes. They dirty box before separating. Simms with a one-two, while Taylor comes forward. They clinch again and the referee breaks them up.

A jab and clinch from Simms. A follow-up combination from Simms opens him up to hard counters from Taylor. More clinching as Taylor stings him with a one-two, but Simms fires back with a stiff jab.

Round 7: This is a very poor showing from Taylor. Simms is out of shape and battling with ring-rust. This fight shouldn't require this much effort from Taylor, who pops Simms with jabs. Uppercuts from Taylor, who continues to commit to the 'no look' punches as he backs Simms up.

Body shots for Taylor, while Simms responds with a counter upstairs. Taylor keeps complaining to the referee about Simms shoving him away. One-two for Taylor, who lands body shots as a follow-up.

Round 8: Both men slow to meet in the center. Taylor jabbing away at the body and head, while Simms responds in kind. Body shot from Taylor, who follows up with a good lead left hook. Simms, though, fires back with a one-two. Short combinations from Taylor.

Taylor with a good uppercut, but Simms eats it. This will be a fight to forget for Taylor, who was given the biggest stage possible for what should have been a showcase fight for him.
