Promising NFC offensive coordinator among top Bills head coach candidates to replace Sean McDermott

The Buffalo Bills made a franchise-altering move on Tuesday, firing head coach Sean McDermott after nine seasons.

McDermott led Buffalo to five division titles and eight playoff wins, but the Bills have yet to get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl, so the team is deciding to go in a new direction.

Buffalo's head coaching vacancy is now one of the most attractive jobs in the NFL, primarily due to superstar quarterback Josh Allen, and a promising NFC offensive coordinator could be among the top candidates to replace McDermott.

Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes Seattle Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak would be a logical fit with the Bills.

Here is why Knox believes Kubiak would be the best hire for Buffalo:

"If the Bills want an up-and-coming, long-term replacement, Kubiak would be the best option for Buffalo. Kubiak has the creative mind needed to put an effective offensive system around Allen, and after working with five franchises over the past five years, he should have the connections needed to assemble a quality staff. And if Kubiak proves to be the right coach for Buffalo, he's young enough to steer the ship for multiple decades."

Kubiak has done a splendid job with the Seahawks this year, transforming the team's offense into one of the best and most dynamic units in football.

The Bills' No. 1 priorty in their ensuing coaching search should be maximizing Allen's talent. Kubiak is still incredibly young, but at the same time, is an experienced offensive mind who would fit well with Allen and get the most out of the MVP quarterback.

Buffalo could target another defensive coach, as the franchise has been built on defense. However, a fresh offensive approach would be exciting, and Kubiak should be a top target.

The Seahawks' offensive coordinator has the potential to be the NFL's next great offensive coach, and with Allen in the middle of his prime, the Bills would be foolish to pass on that.
