Arsenal are stepping up efforts to land RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, with the player keen on making the switch to North London this summer, according to multiple credible sources.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed that negotiations between Arsenal, Leipzig, and Sesko's camp are advancing.
“Understand Arsenal are now advancing in negotiations for Benjamin Sesko after initial concrete talks reported last week. Discussions are underway and proceeding well between all parties involved: the player & clubs. No agreement yet now or expected this weekend, but advancing,” Romano revealed on X.

Sesko, just 22 years old, finished the 2023/24 season with 21 goals in all competitions, and his mix of height, strength, pace, and footwork has made him one of Europe’s most-watched forwards.
Complex release clause slows immediate agreement.
RB Leipzig’s release clause for Sesko is proving to be more complex than initially reported, and the Gunners cannot simply activate a fixed buyout fee, as the €80 million clause is not straightforward.
According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the clause has recently increased in value, and its structure involves multiple conditions that complicate an instant trigger.
“More on Benjamin #Sesko, who’s keen on joining #Arsenal, with advanced talks ongoing over personal terms! Arsenal cannot simply trigger the €80m release clause, it’s a complicated structure, and the clause has also increased.
That’s why the fee is being negotiated freely. Arsenal, with Andrea Berta involved, are fully informed. A transfer fee of €80–100 million will be due. Leipzig and Sesko share a top relationship. The player is relaxed and holds great respect for RB—now waiting for agreements.”

Despite the cost, Arsenal’s interest remains strong, and talks with Sesko’s camp have already progressed on personal terms.
Leipzig, meanwhile, are not actively pushing for a sale. Their strong relationship with Sesko means they are willing to respect the player’s wishes but only if Arsenal meet their financial terms.
