Why Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie Are Not Joining Royal Family for Easter
UPDATE: Princess Eugenie is ensuring Queen Elizabeth II lives forever in her daughter.
Less than a month after the youngest daughter of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) and Sarah Ferguson welcomed a baby girl with husband Jack Brooksbank, she revealed her full name: Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank.
And the 36-year-old—also mom to sons August, 5, and Ernest, 3, with Brooksbank—shared that the infant is partially named after the late monarch, who died in 2022.
“Named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her Great-Grandmother who we hold close in our hearts,” Eugenie wrote in an Aug. 17 Instagram post. “Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home.”
The new mom of three mused that the family is enjoying a “cosy and loved-filled time” in the weeks following their newborn’s arrival, with her sons already assimilating to their new roles. As she put it, “Augie and Ernie are already the best big brothers.”
Eugenie’s update comes two weeks after she gave birth Aug. 3.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6:20 pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal,” a statement read on the royal family’s official Instagram page Aug. 4 alongside a sweet photo of the infant wearing a pink onesie. “The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces.”
The statement added, “Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”
And Eugenie, 36, was especially thrilled to officially be crowned a girl mom.

“Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!!” Eugenie wrote on Instagram. “We are beyond in love with our girlie.”
The couple announced they were expecting their third child back in May.
And while Eugenie’s daughter is the first to have her great-grandmother’s namesake, the 36-year-old previously shared how she hopes oldest son August take after his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
"I think of my grannie and what she has stood for, for so many people and for our family during these 70 years," Eugenie wrote in The Spectator in June 2022. "I'd love Augie to have her patience, her calmness and her kindness, while always being able to laugh at himself and keep a twinkle in his eye."
