Prince Harry’s special anniversary gift to Meghan Markle took center stage on the royal’s Instagram Story as the couple celebrated eight years together.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, showed that her husband gifted her a sculpture of two penguins nuzzling each other with a card that read, “my one and only.”

With a video, she explained the meaning behind the gift, telling their daughter Princess Lilibet about their 2017 engagement party.

“When Mama and Papa, when we got engaged, we had a party with all of our friends and everyone wore an animal onesie,” she recounted, adding that she and Harry were penguins.

In a follow-up video, she posed the figurines behind a polaroid snap of the couple wearing said penguin onesies.

She finished showing off her present by sharing a closeup photo of the throwback picture, which showed Markle standing next to a very tall Prince Harry, 41, for a mirror selfie.

It’s worth noting that some species of penguins like Macaroni penguins are known to mate with one partner for life, according to the National Aquarium.

As Markle explained, the couple hosted their 2017 engagement party with friends and asked their guests to wear onesies. (Pictured above is Harry and Markle taking a selfie dressed in penguin onesies.) Instagram/meghan
