1 hour ago 3

For teams in the richest domestic football competition in the world, relegation from the Premier League is a catastrophic outcome that clubs look to avoid at all costs and expense.

Leicester City, Ipswich Town, and Southampton going down in 2024/25 meant all three promoted clubs were sent straight back down for a second consecutive season, leading fans to believe that it is harder than ever for smaller clubs to establish themselves in the highest division full of rich and powerful clubs.

The burden, therefore, was on Sunderland, Leeds United, and Burnley to break the trend and find a way to stay up.

The Sporting News takes a full look at the current relegation picture to review who will be sent down to the Championship next season.

Premier League teams relegated 2026: Who is going down?

Two teams have seen relegation mathematically confirmed, as Wolves and Burnley are headed down to the Championship once the 2025/26 season concludes.

The real race is for the final relegation place. Back-to-back wins for Tottenham either side of West Ham's 3-0 defeat at Brentford dropped the Hammers into the drop zone with three games to play.

Spurs could have secured survival at Chelsea, but their 2-1 defeat means the battle will go to the final day.
