Prediction: Oregon poised to land 5-star recruit Immanuel Iheanacho

The Oregon Ducks hosted a key collection of official visitors this weekend, ranging from current commits to top targets in the class of 2026.

But while several noteworthy prospects were on hand, none was more visible than Georgetown Prep (Maryland) five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho.

No, that's not because of his gargantuan 6-foot-6, 345-pound frame.

The nation's No. 3 overall prospect shared a video of himself in a push-up contest against Oregon coach Dan Lanning, and was also quick to highlight the Ducks extending an offer to his younger brother, class of 2028 offensive lineman Michael Iheanacho.

Already viewed as the favorite, Oregon entered this weekend hoping to seal the deal with the five-star recruit, who has set an August 5 commitment date.

Prediction: Immanuel Iheanacho to Oregon Ducks

In the modern world of recruiting anything can happen, but all signs point to Iheanacho ending up in Eugene.

He has steadfastly claimed Oregon as his leader for months and didn't shy away from that sentiment with On3 again this weekend.

“I saved the best for last,” he said.

Admittedly, Oregon has had some near misses in the 2026 recruiting cycle - offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell (Georgia), quarterback Jared Curtis (Georgia), athlete Brandon Arrington (Texas A&M), safety Joey O'Brien (Notre Dame) and edge-rusher Richard Wesley (Texas).

The Ducks don't let recruiting slumps last long, and Lanning and Co. are still well-positioned for a top-10 class nationally with a hot summer.

That push began in earnest with the recent addition of Bishop Gorman (Nevada) five-star safety Jett Washington.

But it should continue with Iheanacho, who may push up his August 5 commitment date following a successful trip to Eugene.

What does the recruiting industry think?

On3 currently gives Oregon an 86.1 percent change of landing the East Coast talent, while 247Sports has three projections in thus far, all favoring the Ducks.

What would Oregon be getting in Iheanacho?

Here's what 247Sports had to say about him as a prospect:

"Bullish, physical run game presence with immense size and frame dimensions who could potentially provide valuable roster flexibility. Promisingly consistent in hand placement and lower-body drive when engaged."

"Again, enormous physical traits with plenty of length to live outside, but particularly separate from the field at guard, where he could provide tone-setting brute force. Basketball participation, which reveals a nimble post presence with crafty touch around the rim, reflects in functional athleticism and foot quickness. Sometimes rigid in movement patterns, and mammoth size dictates need for maintaining body control and balance. Still, traits and power can overwhelm even in less-than-ideal technical situations."

"Elite offensive line prospect who can likely play tackle in college and perhaps beyond, but could also become a rare guard candidate."
