Prediction: Oregon Ducks to land nation's 'fastest rising quarterback'

6 hours ago 1

The 26th annual Elite 11 Finals pitted 20 of the nation's top high school quarterbacks against one another in a friendly, week-long competition to establish a pecking order.

Unsurprisingly, Texas Longhorns five-star quarterback Dia Bell, the son of former NBA player Raja Bell, came away with the MVP award.

But, as has been the case over the years, one buzzworthy recruit soared well beyond his current ranking to establish himself firmly as one of the nation's top prospects.

Vista Murrieta (California) three-star quarterback Bryson Beaver finished third in On3's final rankings, capped by a Day 3 performance in which he went 19-of-26 passing for five touchdowns.

“Bryson Beaver cemented his status as the fastest rising quarterback in the 2026 cycle. The 6-foot-3 195 pounder was easily one of the top few arm talents at the Elite 11 Finals,” On3's Charles Powers wrote. “He flashed arguably the strongest arm of all finalists during drill work in Day 1 and made a handful of more impressive throws we saw in his pro day workout on Day 2.”

Beaver, a former Boise State pledge, decommitted from the Broncos on the same day he received an offer from the Oregon Ducks earlier this month.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound signal-caller has since added offers from Alabama and Ole Miss as well.

However, the Ducks stand out.

Prediction: Bryson Beaver to Oregon Ducks

Fresh off a stellar showing at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles, Beaver is set to take an official visit to Oregon this weekend.

There's been significant buzz about a hot streak for the Ducks, one that may have begun Thursday with the addition of Bishop Gorman (Nevada) five-star safety Jett Washington, and all signs point to Beaver joining the fold sooner rather than later.

While the red-hot quarterback has yet to set a commitment date, a pledge following this weekend's visit to Eugene would not be a surprise.

Beaver is sky-high on Oregon, his stock couldn't be hotter and the Ducks need a 2026 signal-caller.

Outside of a last night that reminds some of Oregon's in-state rival, it's a match made in college football Heaven.

Here's what 247Sports had to say about Beaver as a prospect:

"Confident passer with surprising escape powers that’s willing to challenge both man and zone coverage at all three levels. Looks the part with an athletic frame that’s pushing 6-foot-3, 200 pounds."

"Can drive the football with both pace and touch to the intermediate level and win with anticipatory throws. Effective on sprint/roll outs as he has proven to be rather accurate on the move and will drop the elbow to generate torque. Finds ways to get out of sacks and will extend plays with his creativity as he spins away from defenders."

"Can get caught trying to do a little too much at times, but a hunt-or-be-hunted mindset can be hard to find in a young signal caller. Needs to improve as a deep-shot taker and keep progressing as a decision-maker, but should be viewed as a late-bloomer that has the tools to eventually emerge as a trusted starter on Saturdays."
