The 150th running of the Preakness Stakes commences this weekend, as horses from around the country seek to win the second leg of the illustrious Triple Crown.
Headlining the field at the Preakness is Journalism, the runner-up at the Kentucky Derby. This weekend, Journalism aims to turn its second-place finish at the Derby into a win in Baltimore. Journalism, like at the Derby, is favored to win with 8-5 odds.
Also expected to join Journalism in Baltimore is Derby seventh-place finisher Sandman (4-1), 2025 Hot Springs Stakes winner Clever Again (5-1) and 2025 Fountain of Youth Stakes runner-up River Thames (9-2).
Saturday’s Preakness Stakes will be the last time horse racing fans will see Pimlico Race Course until 2027, as the course prepares for a redevelopment project.
The Sporting News has everything you need to follow the 150th Preakness on the radio.
