Please Put Them On, Takamine-san! episode 11, titled I'll Let You Do a Dry Run, saw Ouji Seiya get picked as the Prince over Shirota. As for Shirota, he became one of the Prince's guards, hoping to have the same amount of stage time as Ouji.

Later, the anime saw Shirota, Takamine, and other students practice for the play and work on all the stage and prop preparations. On the night before the Cultural Festival, Takamine called Shirota to the school's rooftop. She was going to confess her feelings, but ended up hiding them again.

On the event day, Takamine went to a haunted house with Shirota, claiming she wanted to help Shirota lose his nerves. Later, when they returned to their class, they learned about Ouji Seiya's accident and unavailability for the play.
