DK Metcalf just wants to play video games with Aaron Rodgers. However, that has yet to happen, Metcalf revealed recently.
Now, Metcalf has admitted he's "salty" over the situation after Rodgers went on to play video games with other teammates.
"Not me, but you should check with other people on the team," Metcalf said of his quarterback playing video games. "They got him to pick up the sticks before me."
Metcalf said he isn't offended but joked that he's "salty."
"Offended is not the word. I'm a little salty," Metcalf admitted.
A quarterback and wide receiver playing video games together can be a double-edged sword.
On one hand, it can help them improve their relationship, which is important for a quarterback and his No. 1 wide receiver.
On the other hand, things could go in the opposite direction if Metcalf and Rodgers get too competitive on the sticks.
All jokes aside, Rodgers and Metcalf have been building their relationship since before the former signed with the team after the duo met for a workout in May.
“You know, DK and I worked out in the offseason together," Rodgers said. "We have a good relationship. We talked about a lot of football stuff. We FaceTime, we texted during the offseason, after minicamps, so we got a good relationship. It’s going to just keep on going."
So far in training camp, we've seen that relationship manifest with some impressive connections between the two in practice.
With a shaky situation at wide receiver, the Steelers are going to need plenty of Metcalf-Rodgers connections if the offense is going to succeed in 2025.
