Pistons reach pivotal point in contract future of Daniss Jenkins

1 hour ago 2

The Detroit Pistons have a decision to make.

In reality, Daniss Jenkins has made it easy. But technically, there's a contract choice to be made, sooner rather than later.

On Friday night, Jenkins played the final game he was eligible to appear in as a two-way player.

To play any more this season for the Pistons, Jenkins needs to sign a standard contract for the rest of the season.

In the last game eligible to be on a Two-Way, Daniss Jenkins scores a team high 18 points.

Jenkins is eligible to have his contract converted but only if Detroit opens up a roster spot.

As the post above shows, Jenkins had 18 points in his final game as a two-way guy. He did that in just 18 minutes.

Jenkins scored 18 points three games ago, too.

He was undrafted after a college journey that went from Pacific to Iona to St. John's.

The 24-year old played seven games for the Pistons at the NBA level in 2024-25.

This season, it's been 42 games with averages of 8.2 points, 3.3 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game.

Jenkins has been particularly promising thanks to his 39.1% shooting from 3-point range.

The Pistons have already made it clear they intend to sign Jenkins. They just have to make the move happen.
