Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker is making a major change for the 2026-27 NBA season.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Booker plans to switch his jersey number with the Suns from No. 1 to No. 15.

Booker wore No. 1 during his lone season at college at the University of Kentucky, and he's worn the number in Phoenix throughout his tenure with the team dating back to 2015.

But, he's switching to No. 15 to honor the college number of his father, Melvin Booker, who wore No. 15 while playing at the University of Missouri in the early 1990s.

Devin Booker also wore No. 15 for Team USA in the Olympics while winning Gold Medals in Tokyo in 2020 and Paris in 2024.

Center Mark Williams wore No. 15 with the Suns last season, but he's a restricted free agent this summer. If he's going to remain in Phoenix, he'll apparently be forced to wear a different number.
