The Phoenix Mercury have appeared to wade into the fallout of the Indiana Fever/Connecticut Sun game that resulted in multiple technical and flagrant fouls as well as three player ejections.

On Wednesday night the Mercury shared a series of photos of former teammates Alyssta Thomas and Marina Mabrey captioned, "AT the Peacemaker and Marina the Tik Tok Queen are reunited 🧡."

While the photos and caption aren't anything of note, several fans seized on both and apparently deduced the team was referencing the disturbance in Indianapolis. Also on Wednesday, WNBA officials upgraded Mabrey's technical foul to a flagrant 2.

The events at Gainbridge unfolded over the course of the teams' game, but truly kicked off in the third quarter after the Sun's Jacy Sheldon poked Caitlin Clark in the eye and then shoved her. Clark shoved back, and then Mabrey pushed Clark to the floor. At the end of the fourth, the Fever's Sophie Cunningham dragged Sheldon to the ground, which resulted in an on-court fight that saw Cunningham, Sheldon, the latter's teammate Lindsay Allen ejected from the match.
