The Philadelphia Phillies are currently sitting with a 60-45 record, which is 1.5 games behind the first-place New York Mets in the National League East.
This week is major for the Phillies if they want to improve their roster with the trade deadline approaching on July 31st.
If the Phillies want to try to win their first World Series since 2008, they are going to need to upgrade their lineup. One name that has been mentioned is Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Eugenio Suarez.
If the Phillies do make a trade for Suarez, that could leave the team trading third baseman Alec Bohm, since they both play the same position. Christopher Kline from Fansided thinks it's a possibility.
"Alec Bohm recently hit the 10-day IL, which was enough for Eugenio Suárez trade rumors to pop up in full force. If the Phillies are seriously interested in Suárez, it says something about how the organization views Bohm. It's worth remembering that Bohm was a frequent flier in the rumor mill this past offseason. The Phils ultimately stood pat, but the concept of trading Bohm and upgrading the infield has been percolating for a while," Kline wrote.

Bohm was the third overall pick of the Phillies in the 2018 draft and has been in Major League Baseball since 2020.
The 28-year-old slugger made the All-Star game in 2024 and is on a $7 million contract this season with one year left of control in 2026.
