Over the past few weeks, Phil Mickelson's repeated digs at Gavin Newsom on social media have gone viral. Even today, the veteran golfer did not mind throwing some shade at the California Governor's intentions.

This week, US President Donald Trump was spotted on an Asia Tour, his first stop being Malaysia. After securing peace and business agreements there, Trump's second stop was at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Japan. Today, the American President had a meeting with Japanese Emperor Naruhito.

After a picture of their meeting was shared on X (previously Twitter) by The White House, Phil Mickelson reposted it. In the caption, the veteran golfer lauded the bond between Japan and the United States of America. Apart from that, he claimed that the USA is currently unable to support Japan in case of a "conflict".

The golfer also accused Newsom of being the sole reason behind this situation. According to Mickelson's allegation, Newsom uses Russian and Chinese tankers as sources of fuel in the Asia Pacific. Take a look at what Phil Mickelson wrote in his X post today:

"Our relationship with Japan is valuable for both sides. However, we are currently unable to support them if any conflict were to arise. @CAgovernor has the fuel all our bases in Asia Pacific rely on, dependent on Chinese and Russian tankers, against federal policy."

This is not the first time Phil Mickelson has slammed Newsom regarding his energy policies. The golfer has often pointed fingers at the politician while debating on the Sable Offshore Corp vs California Coastal Commission case.

The most recent example was yesterday, when the six-time major champ claimed that the Democrats have made "irrational attacks" on local oil refineries and pipelines. In a recent X post, Mickelson even labeled Newsom's actions as "intentional sabotage and treason".

When Phil Mickelson accused Gavin Newsom of committing "treason" by preferring Chinese and Russian tankers

A day before, Mickelson shared snaps from a report by Stan Ellis, Michael Mische, and Michael Ariza. In the caption of his X post, the golfer accused Newsom of violating the US oil sanction policies. He further called him out for imposing "ridiculous" energy costs.

As explained by Phil Mickelson, Newsom is reportedly relying on Chinese COSCO and Russian Sovcomflot for fuel. In his post, the LIV golfer also labeled the California Governor's policies as a National Security Threat. Mickelson wrote:

"@CAgovernor has no problem harming every Californian with ridiculous energy costs. BUT his policies have put every American and the entire South Pacific in harm's way and are currently the biggest NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT... Policies put in place by Pres Biden in 2022 and just renewed by Pres Trump that are being disregarded and ignored by Gov Newsom. This info is a quick recap..."

@CAgovernor has no problem harming every Californian with ridiculous energy costs. BUT his policies have put every American and the entire South Pacific in harms way and is currently the biggest NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT. Is he really this incompetent? His blatant sabotage of

After sharing the above post, Mickelson reposted his tweet and once again emphasized how Newsom is disregarding "Federal Policy" of the United States. In a follow-up tweet to his repost, the veteran pro also reminded his followers how the policies are a "real, imminent, serious threat" to the Nation.
