PFF shares hype for Arch Manning era at Texas

The Texas Longhorns are finally turning the offense over to Arch Manning. One of the biggest recruits in the history of football started two games as a backup to Quinn Ewers in 2024, and with one year remaining before a likely trip to the NFL, it's finally his time to shine.

This changes the outlook for Texas. Manning, if he is what the football world expects him to be, could lead the Longhorns to the promised land. At the very least, PFF expects him to anchor the third-best offense in college football

"The Arch Manning Era is here. He is the Heisman Trophy favorite at (+700) on FanDuel Sportsbook, despite having started only two games in his college career," Max Chadwick of PFF said. "He earned an impressive 88.0 PFF overall grade on 233 snaps, though, and will have PFF’s No. 3 running back unit and No. 8 receiving corps to help him out."

Manning was incredibly good in those two starts, and he's got a dynamic backfield to help take some pressure off. He also has a really strong wide receiver room despite losing some talent. The only question remains the offensive line.

"The biggest question for Texas is along the offensive line, as the elite unit from 2024 lost four of five starters," Chadwick added. "However, intriguing players are waiting in the wings, including tackles Trevor Goosby and Brandon Baker."

Provided those players aren't total busts and the offensive line is at least not a bad unit, the offense for the Longhorns could be frighteningly good.
