Finishing with a .247 batting average, 31 home runs and 95 RBIs, Pete Crow-Armstrong played a starring role as the Chicago Cubs made it back to the postseason for the first time in five years.

Along with his production at the plate, the 23-year-old was also outstanding in the outfield, frequently showing off his remarkable athleticism to make difficult plays look simple.

On Sunday, November 2, the youngster's stellar defensive ability was rewarded, and he won a Gold Glove award for the first time in his career.

As he headed to the award ceremony in New York to receive the prestigious prize, Pete Crow-Armstrong bumped into legendary outfielder Andruw Jones, who later took to Instagram to congratulate him for his success.

As he re-shared the story to his own profile, PCA summed up his opinion on Jones' status with the help of a single emoji.

Spending 17 seasons in the big leagues, Andruw Jones represented some of the biggest organizations in the majors, such as the Atlanta Braves, LA Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees.

In that time, he earned himself plenty of accolades, including five All-Star selections, ten Gold Glove awards, a Silver Slugger award, and several other notable honors. Jones was inducted to the Atlanta Braves' Hall of Fame in August 2016, and his number 25 jersey was retired by the organization in September 2023.

Pete Crow-Armstrong reflects on "special" 2025 season

Having occupied top spot in the NL Central for pretty much the entirety of the first half of the season, Pete Crow-Armstrong and the Chicago Cubs ultimately had to contend with a second-place finish, as rivals the Milwuakee Brewers won the division for a third consecutive year.

The two teams met again in the NLDS. Though the Cubs had won the season series, it was the Brewers that came out on top when it mattered most, winning the playoff series 3-2.

Soon after the Cubs' season came to an end, PCA took to Instagram to reflect on a "special" campaign.

"Cubs Fans. Thank you for another year of your patience and trust in me. This year’s group was so special and wore the “C” so well. I’m humbled once again having been able to represent the best fanbase in the world. Got some work to do. See yall soon <3" Pete Crow-Armstrong posted

After resting up in the offseason months to come, PCA and the Cubs will go again in 2026.
