PHOENIX — Francisco Lindor has seen a transformation of sorts in the Mets’ hottest hitter.
Pete Alonso continues to crush opposing pitchers, hitting his signature monster home runs, but there is something else about the Mets first baseman that has struck Lindor.
“I have been seeing him for years doing something like this,” Lindor said. “But now he’s almost like a high-average hitter who has a lot of pop where before he was a power hitter. He looks fantastic.”
Alonso’s traditional statistics are impressive, as are the metrics that help explain his torrid start.
