Pedophile and disgraced British rock star Ian Watkins was slaughtered in his jail cell Saturday.

Another convict ambushed the singer and used a shank to slash the 48-year-old’s throat after the cells at HM Prison Wakefield were unlocked for the morning, sources told The Sun.

The ex-Lostprophet frontman’s jugular was severed and he succumbed to blood loss.

“Watkins has been killed in the most brutal way possible – and the attack was shocking, even by prison standards,” the source told the outlet.

“Guards were nearby and raced to the scene pretty quickly — but there was nothing they could do, and they could not save him.”

They continued: “It was a horrific scene, with blood everywhere and alarms and sirens going off.”

West Yorkshire Police confirmed the murder took place shortly after 9:30 a.m., but would not reveal the dead inmate’s identity.

“Police were called by staff at HMP Wakefield reporting an assault on a prisoner,” a spokesperson told The Post.

“Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.”

Watkins, who was serving a 35-year sentence for a string of horrifying child sex offences, had been attacked several times over the years by other inmates of the jail known as “Monster Mansion.”

In August 2023, he was taken hostage and beaten for six hours by three other convicts over an unsettled drugs debt of about $1,200 they said Watkins owed.

“This was just a matter of time,” the source told The Sun.

“[Watkins] was walking around with a target on his back, and this has happened.”

The attacker has reportedly been apprehended, but had not been publicly identified.

Multiple guards witnessed the bloodshed, which appeared to be premeditated.

Watkins had been serving time behind bars since he was convicted in 2013 of a disturbing series of crimes, including preying on the babies of his fans.

Text messages discovered by police showed one threatening message to the mother of a victim that read, “If you belong to me, so does your baby.”

Watkins also harbored a trove of child pornography and animal bestiality media.

At the time of his arrest, Watkins was a massive celebrity and frontman for the Welsh band the Lostprophets.

The band rose to fame in 2000 with the album “The Fake Sound of Progress,” which landed on the top 200 Billboard.

HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire, England, is an all-male high-security facility that holds up to 750 prisoners.

The prison is nicknamed the “Monster Mansion” because of the high-profile, high-risk prisoners it has housed including Harold Shipman, deemed the most prolific serial killer in modern history,” Charles Bronson the “most violent prisoner in Britain” and currently holding Robert Maudsley, the real-life “Hannibal the Cannibal.”
