A Pennsylvania middle school teacher faces up to seven years in prison for allegedly sending nudes to a 14-year-old student — while joking about his age in suggestive social media messages.

Ashley Autumn Mongell, 30, allegedly demanded the boy make sure their messages were disappearing, at one point saying, “No texting me for 9 years,” according to a criminal complaint seen by WPXI.

Pennsylvania State Police Computer Crimes Unit began investigating the sick teacher last Thursday after receiving a Cyber Tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about communications between an account associated with Mongell and one used by the boy, according to charging documents.

The student told police that he and Mongell had exchanged nude photos over Snapchat, after the Attorney General issued a subpoena and police obtained information about the teenager, WPXI reported.

Mongell told the police that the boy had been in her eighth-grade class at Connellsville Area Middle School, about 50 miles south of Pittsburgh, last year, according to the complaint.

She also admitted to sending the boy a fully nude photo, which investigators said was found on the teen’s cellphone, per the document.

The two had exchanged messages on Instagram, Snapchat and via cellphone, according to an affidavit.

Mongell was charged with “Unlawful Contact with a Minor,” a felony, for which she could face up to seven years in prison, Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele said in a statement on Friday announcing the charges.

The teacher was placed on administrative leave on Friday, as soon as the charges were announced, authorities said.

“This afternoon, the Connellsville Area School District was informed by the Pennsylvania State Police of criminal charges against a Connellsville Area School District teacher. Upon receiving the information, that teacher was immediately placed on administrative leave,” Superintendent of Schools Richard Evans said in a statement sent out to parents.

“We understand that news like this is unsettling and may raise concerns, and we want to assure our families and community that the District is taking this matter very seriously. The safety and well-being of our students is always our highest priority,” the statement continued.

“The Connellsville Area School District will cooperate fully with the Pennsylvania State Police regarding this matter. Because this is both a law enforcement and personnel matter, we are unable to provide additional details at this time. We appreciate the support of our community as we work to ensure a safe, secure learning environment for all students,” the statement concluded.

Mongell was arraigned on Friday and is being held in the Fayette County Jail on $40,000 bail. She is due back in court on Sept. 24.
