Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills (5-2) will square off against Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs (5-3) in Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season on Sunday. The game will kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET from Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. Ahead of the crunch Bills vs. Chiefs showdown, FS1 analyst Nick Wright has opened on the rivalry between quarterbacks Mahomes and Allen.

In an episode of his "What's Wright" show on Thursday, Wright explained why he feels the Mahomes-Allen rivalry isn't hyped as most people make it out to be.

“People so badly want it to be Brady/Peyton, and it has just been nothing like it," Wright said on the Mahomes-Allen rivalry. "And it's maddening. Peyton was the guy with the multiple MVPs. Peyton was the guy with the crazy stats. Brady was the one with the rings.

"Josh and Patrick: Patrick is the one with multiple MVPs. Patrick is the one with the gaudier stats, and Patrick is the only one that's ever won (Super Bowls). It is far closer to Jordan/Ewing than Bird/Magic or Peyton/Brady.”

Wright also said that Sunday's game won't change anything in the Mahomes-Allen rivalry. He added that if the Bills beat the Chiefs in the playoffs, the Mahomes-Allen rivalry could step up to another level, but it would still be far from the elite rivalries in sports.
