Penta’s debut was encouraging sign for trend-breaking WWE push that needs to follow

WWE has a unique opportunity with Pentagon Jr. if it allows itself to break from a longstanding trend.

The former AEW star and renowned Mexican luchador, who debuted as Penta and beat Chad Gable on Raw on Monday night, has a chance to be one of the most unique performers in WWE today. 

Penta, 39, gets a rare chance to be a singles wrestler for a bit with brother and longtime tag team partner Rey Fenix currently in AEW purgatory — not being used after the company reportedly added injury time to his contract once word came out the duo planned to leave for WWE.

It’s up to WWE to capitalize on that time and not treat Penta like they have many other Latino stars, who currently on the main roster feel like they are mostly all part of the LWO or Legado Del Fantasma factions with Andrade and Carlito as exceptions.
