Head coach James Franklin and the Nittany Lions dropped one rank in this week's AP Top 25 rankings after Miami snuck in front of them. Penn State is now the No. 3 team in the nation.
Their next matchup looks to be one of their toughest tasks yet, as they look to host the No. 6 Oregon Ducks at one of the biggest stadiums in all of college football.
Penn State will look to get its redemption after losing to Oregon last December with a final score of 45-37.
James Franklin fires up Penn State fans ahead of Oregon matchup
There's a lot in store for the two Big Ten teams on Saturday. Both will look to improve their current rank and keep their undefeated records moving forward.
Head coach James Franklin sent a message to the Nittany Lions fanbase. He hopes to make Oregon as uncomfortable as possible when they pay a visit to Beaver Stadium.
"Obviously, we need this place rocking," Franklin said, according to Tyler Donohue of 247 Sports. "I'm expecting this to be an environment like no one has ever seen. We want to make it clearly obvious to everybody what is the most challenging and difficult environment to play in all of sports, let alone college football."
Penn State quarterback Drew Allar will look to redeem himself after an up-and-down performance last time he faced Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks.
In the matchup last December, Allar had a 51% completion percentage, throwing for 226 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in the loss at Oregon.
