From the best day of your life to a low point in your life.

Penguins rinkside reporter Hailey Hunter experienced that emotional roller coaster this week as it was revealed she was fired by SportsNet Pittsburgh — a month after getting married.

“Unfortunately, I was told the Penguins have decided that they simply wanted to move in a different direction with the role,” Hunter told TribLive. “I really wasn’t given any details, but I understand that’s the business we are in.”

Hunter spent three years with the SportsNet after joining the broadcasting team during the 23-24 season, helping cover the franchise her father, Tim Hrynewich, played 55 games for from 1982-84.

A graduate of Ohio State, she first attempted to make the LPGA Tour before entering the broadcasting business.

Hunter and fiancé Gage Posey married on May 16 after five years together.

The firing shocked fans, as support poured out for the reporter after the news broke on Wednesday.

“She was very, very good, really sad! stupid move on their part,” one supporter said.

“What?! Hailey was so good. This sucks,” another chimed in.

SportsNet Pittsburgh announced it would “soon begin a nationwide search for a rinkside reporter for our Penguins coverage.”

The move comes after a Penguins season in which the team made the playoffs in what was supposed to be the beginning of a transition with an aging core surprisingly seeking a third Stanley Cup since 2016.
