There are a handful of players the Indianapolis Colts could watch walk in free agency this offseason.
While it's unrealistic to expect the front office to re-sign every player set to hit the market, they will have to pick and choose their spots in terms of which players to bring back.
General manager Chris Ballard is expected to be a bit more aggressive this offseason with his job officially on the line, but he's also likely to let the market dictate the majority of his moves.
Ahead of free agency, which officially begins in March, Pro Football Focus released their contract projections for their top-50 ranked free agents.
Coming in at No. 24 overall is guard Will Fries, who was surprisingly projected to sign a four-year, $57.3 million deal ($14.3 million AAV).
"Fries has shown tremendous strides over the duration of his rookie contract and could be the next guard to cash in during the free agency period after a wave of big deals landed in 2024. Unfortunately, Fries fractured his tibia in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and underwent immediate surgery, but he had earned an 86.8 PFF overall grade up to that point on 268 snaps," Pro Football Focus wrote.
Losing Fries was a massive blow to the Colts offense line. The former seventh-round pick has turned into a solid starter for the Colts when he's on the field.
According to Pro Football Focus, the 26-year-old allowed just six total pressures on 153 pass-blocking snaps during the 2024 season before his injury.
The Colts replaced Fries with Dalton Tucker, undrafted free agent rookie, and veteran Mark Glowinski.
It will be interesting to see what kind of market Fries will have coming off his injury but if he's getting offers like the on Pro Football Focus projects, it's difficult to see him returning to Indy.
