Punjab Kings (PBKS) used ₹8 crore of their available ₹11.5 crore purse to acquire four players at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction, held on Tuesday, December 16, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Ahead of the auction, the franchise had retained 21 players, leaving only four slots to be filled.
PBKS began their bidding by acquiring young Australian all-rounder Cooper Connolly for ₹3 crore. The 22-year-old has featured in 36 T20 matches, scoring 705 runs at an average of 33.57 and a strike rate of 136.36, including three half-centuries, while also claiming 13 wickets.
The 2025 season runners-up further strengthened their squad by bringing in Australian left-arm seamer Ben Dwarshuis for ₹4.4 crore. The pacer has played 13 T20Is and picked up 20 wickets, with best figures of 4/36.
Shreyas Iyer’s side also acquired uncapped Pravin Dubey at his base price of ₹30 lakh. During the 2025 season, he featured in one match for the Kings and claimed a wicket. Overall, the 32-year-old has played five IPL games, taking two wickets. The franchise completed their signings by adding another uncapped Indian, Vishal Nishad, also for ₹30 lakh.
