When Paul George signed with the Philadelphia 76ers last offseason, expectations were sky-high.
However, the nine-time All-Star endured one of the toughest seasons of his career, battling through several injuries that derailed his personal performance and the 76ers' season.
While speaking on his podcast, "Podcast P with Paul George," the veteran forward revealed that he had been dealing with a torn adductor throughout the season.
.
"The most frustrating thing about the last season was obviously I came in, I was healthy, I didn't have no hiccups," George said.
He added, "I spent the whole offseason working on my body, getting healthy, and then I got to Philly. Preseason, I get hurt. From that point on, I didn't give it full time to heal. I got an expectation I'm not going to leave them hanging. I want to go out there and play. I'm out there and it's like, damn, I know something ain't right. I ain't got my burst, I can't move. And I couldn't quite pin what it was."
" Then I had an injury that I didn't even know, and this was the original of why I was feeling like something's off. I can't move. I'm used to being able to explode. I'm used to cutting, come to find out I had a torn adductor."
George played only 41 games for the 76ers last season. He averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists, a notable drop from the previous season and his lowest since the 2014-15 season.
George, Embiid, and rookie Jared McCain were injured, which plagued the team last season, ultimately finishing with a record of 24-58, the first time since the 2016-17 season.
Now, with a healthy George, Embiid, and a potential No.3 overall pick, the 76ers would look to bounce back and reestablish themselves as a top team in the Eastern Conference.
