The New England Patriots continue to look for ways to improve their offense around second-year QB Drake Maye.
One of the possible weaker links remaining for the Pats might be in the backfield, where Rhamondre Stevenson is coming off an underwhelming season.
Stevenson is a limited receiving threat who also fumbled seven times this past season, and New England's free agent pickup of Antonio Gibson didn't deliver the desired resulted.
Pro Football Network's Sterling Xie thinks the Pats should call the Tampa Bay Buccaneers about a trade for Rachaad White.
White is entering the last year of his deal ($3.4 million) and is a bit of surplus for the Buccaneers given the emergence of Bucky Irving.
In 2024, White had 613 rushing yards at 4.3 yards per carry while also catching 51 passes for 393 yards and six TDs.

White would likely only cost the Patriots a late-round draft pick.
Tampa Bay would still have Sean Tucker to back up Irving, so this feels a bit like a win-win.
If New England got White, it could consider whether Stevenson or Gibson is someone that can be moved on from. Or it just allows the Patriots more versatility in their own backfield.
