Drake Maye and the New England Patriots have another reason to celebrate. The team pulled off an important win on Sunday in Week 6 of the NFL season, with the Patriots taking down the Jets, 26-19.
Sure, one might think it's just the Jets, but Aaron Glenn's team is stronger than it was last season, and this wasn't a sure-bet win. Maye and company played solid football and were able to pull off a steady and fairly drama-free win, and that can be celebrated by New England.
Drake Maye leads the Patriots to another win as New England continues to build momentum
In a feature about the NFL's Week 6 games, Kevin Patra of the NFL's official website says that even though the game "wasn't the prettiest outing for Mike Vrabel's squad," the team "made the big plays on both sides of the ball to march to 4-2."
He especially highlights Maye's play, saying that he "moved the ball well, gobbling up 383 yards and 22 first downs."
"The Patriots QB made a bevy of clutch throws on key downs, going 6 of 10 for 87 yards and two TDs for a 127.9 passer rating on third down," he adds. "If not for a few drops from his receivers, Maye's day would have been even bigger. Sunday was a heady effort from the QB."
So, Maye showed off his best football on Sunday. It's even more impressive since the Patriots are dealing with several injuries on their offensive roster and didn't have some starters available. Being able to win without your main guys puts this victory on a whole new level.
