Things are starting to heat up in Denver.
In what is expected to be bone-chilling cold temperatures for Sunday’s AFC Championship game between the Patriots and Broncos in Empower Field at Mile High, the verbal jabs have already started, with warmer pastures the prize for the losing team.
“They’re going to have plenty of rest after this one,” Broncos coach Sean Payton said of his team’s fans needing to show up in a big way on Sunday. “Two weeks.”

“They can rest in Cancun, too, at the end of the day,” replied receiver Kayshon Boutte.
The trash talk is cheap, but it could make for a fun afternoon in Denver as the Broncos prepare to play without starting quarterback, Bo Nix.
Jarrett Stidham, who has one win in just four NFL starts, prepares to play the biggest game of his career.
Payton will surely take a different approach to the AFC title game despite the smack talk, with his defense the most important piece of his game plan.
The Broncos defense allowed 4.5 yards per play this season, tied for the best figure in the NFL this year with the Seattle Seahawks.
