The Denver Broncos recently acquired star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins, which has led one analyst to believe the team could be willing to part ways with Marvin Mims Jr.
Pro Football Focus's John Kosko lists Mims as the most valuable trade asset on the Broncos ahead of next month's draft in Pittsburgh.
"The Broncos recently traded a premium asset for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, creating a crowded and talented receiver room. With that surplus, it makes sense that one of the younger options could become expendable — most notably Marvin Mims Jr. or Troy Franklin," Kosko wrote.
Mims hasn't done a lot in the receiving game so far in his career, but he's made his mark as one of the best returners in the sport.
The Oklahoma product led the league in punt return yards in 2025 (452) and has been selected to two Pro Bowls in his career, so far, due to his work on special teams. He was also a first-team All-Pro selection in 2024 and earned second-team honors during his rookie year in 2023.
Though most of Mims' value comes in the return game, he has shown that he can be a dynamic receiving threat when given the opportunity. If Denver decides to entertain offers for the 24-year-old, the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers make sense as possible landing spots.
New England could use more receiving talent to pair with Romeo Doubs and Kayshon Boutte. Mims could break out in the Patriots' offense, and would also add a major boost to Mike Vrabel and Jeremy Springer's special teams return group.
The same goes for Pittsburgh, whose top two receivers are DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. Mims' speed would be a fantastic addition to Mike McCarthy's offense, and give the unit a much-needed field stretcher.
Despite trading for Waddle, the Broncos should still view Mims as a long-term building block. However, if Denver decides to move him, the Patriots and Steelers should attempt to acquire the already multiple-time Pro Bowler.
