Following claims that NFL referees are rigging games in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs amid their 15-2 season—most recently two forcible contact hits refs made against the Houston Texans during the game on Jan. 18—the duo shared their thoughts on the controversy. And for Travis, that meant having brother Jason Kelce get him up to speed on everything—including Lil Wayne’s biting words for him.
“The whole world was talking about something else during the game, and I'm sure you saw some of this,” Jason began on the Jan. 22 episode of New Heights, “but they were complaining about the refs again, Trav.”
“Even Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne, ‘I hate the cheating azz Chiefs,’” the former Philadelphia Eagles center read. “So an ass with two z's.”
And he had no interest in wading into the debate as when Jason asked him about the two forcible contact hit calls in question—which where hits against his QB Patrick—Travis simply said, “I plead the fifth.”
Patrick, too, isn’t interested in adding to the discourse.

“I‘ve kind of learned that no matter what happens during the game, that something’s going to come out about it if you win and you continue to win, so I don’t really pay attention to it,” the 29-year-old said during an interview on 96.5 The Fan Jan. 21. “I mean, obviously I’ve been on both sides of it as far as how I felt the calls were made, but at the end of the day, man, those guys are doing their best to make the best calls and keep it to where the players are making the plays in the game. And that’s what decides the outcome.”
“And obviously there was a call here or there that people didn’t agree with,” Patrick continued. “but at the same time, I think there was a lot of other plays that really decided the outcome of that football game.”
Travis, Patrick and the Chiefs are set to face off the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 26 for the AFC Championship to determine if they will make their return to the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Feb. 6.
