Patrick Mahomes reveals his favorite college football quarterback

Patrick Mahomes traded his NFL spotlight for a Saturday morning guest seat on ESPN’s College GameDay. Among the topics the Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback discussed was who he enjoys watching most in college football?

While Mahomes gave a nod to Texas Tech and current Red Raiders quarterback Behren Morton, Oregon’s Dante Moore drew the most consideration.

“It’s going to be an ugly football game. Iowa’s going to make it ugly. It’s going to be a defensive football game,” Mahomes said while making his celebrity Week 11 picks. “But Dante Moore might be my favorite quarterback to watch in college. So I’m going to take the Ducks to go in there and win an ugly one.”

The Ducks are favored by less than a touchdown and are trying to stay alive in the College Football Playoff race behind Moore, who has thrown for 1,772 yards, 19 touchdowns and four interceptions this season.

Oregon has endured some bumps in the road, including a rough loss to Indiana and Moore’s brief exit against Wisconsin after a bloodied nose. But his strong arm and athleticism have earned him a following that now includes one former NFL MVP.
