Pat McAfee is set to appear at yet another premier event for ESPN.

The sports media personality, who has often appeared on ESPN's NFL, college football, and NBA coverage previously, will bring "The Pat McAfee Show" to Atlanta on Monday prior to MLB's Home Run Derby.

Just before baseball's top sluggers compete in the event, McAfee and his crew will be outside of Truist Park to get things started.

Pat McAfee Show Home Run Derby broadcast, explained

Front Office Sports first reported on July 7 that "The Pat McAfee Show" would be in Atlanta for the Home Run Derby. With McAfee becoming arguably ESPN's biggest star outside of Stephen A. Smith, it was a significant decision for the network, once again allowing McAfee's show to hit the road for a major event.

ESPN later confirmed the news, writing that the show would "emanate from the Coca-Cola Roxy, adjacent to Truist Park."

"Breaking news," McAfee said during an episode of his show recently. "We will be live from, I believe it’s called the Roxy Theater, which is connected to Truist Park down there in Atlanta, Monday, the day of the Home Run Derby. Shout-out to the MLB for inviting us. Obviously, the All-Star Game is on Tuesday. Monday is the Home Run Derby. It’s a spectacle of baseball and, obviously, the Home Run Derby is the most electrifying sporting event, year in, year out."

McAfee also spoke about his excitement for the broadcast and the Derby.

"Every year, there's something magical that comes out of it," McAfee said. "Shoutout to the MLB for making that happen."

"The Pat McAfee Show" broadcast is just one aspect of ESPN's Home Run Derby coverage, which also includes a Georgia stop in the SportsCenter "50 States in 50 Days" series, a pre-Derby episode of "Baseball Tonight," and a return of an alternate Statcast production of the event on ESPN2.

Among the other top events McAfee's show has traveled for in the past are June's NBA Finals, the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, and Week 0 of the 2024 college football season in Ireland.

ESPN's Home Run Derby coverage, including McAfee's show, also comes at a time when the network's future with MLB is uncertain. Earlier in the year, reports indicated that ESPN was leaning toward walking away from MLB rights by the end of the 2025 season, but in the last few weeks, Front Office Sports reported that talks between the league and ESPN have picked back up.
