The Carolina Panthers have added a quarterback.
Bryce Young is injured, and the Panthers wanted some depth behind Andy Dalton.
The new signing came on Monday night. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that the Panthers are signing Mike White to their practice squad.
White spent the summer with the Buffalo Bills. He also was on the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad for the first few weeks following Joe Burrow's injury.
In the NFL, White is most known for the seven starts he made for the New York Jets between 2021 and 2022. He was 2-5 in those starts.

In his career, White has completed 199-of-324 passes, 61.4%.
He has thrown nine NFL touchdowns and 13 interceptions, while tossing a total of 2,247 yards.
This likely signals that Young is unlikely to be available for Week 8.
Dalton is a proven veteran backup who would appreciate this chance to start and get some more NFL snaps.
Before this signing, the Panthers already had one practice squad quarterback, Hendon Hooker.
Hooker would likely be elevated to the gameday roster if Young is out, while White will probably need time to learn the playbook anyway. But he's some additional quarterback insurance if needed while Young is potentially out.
