Paige Bueckers lets WNBA vet know these rookies are built different

The No. 1 pick of the 2025 WNBA Draft, Paige Bueckers, has been talking her stuff — and backing it up — since stepping into the league.

Following the LA Sparks’ win over the Dallas Wings, Bueckers had a moment with WNBA veteran Kelsey Plum. The rookie made sure Plum took note of her moves during the game, and Plum didn’t hold back in her response.

Plum said that she’ll jokingly remember the day that Bueckers talked smack to her. Plum said, still processing the boldness from the league’s newest star.

Plum added, “Rookies are built different here,” clearly surprised by Bueckers' confidence.

Let’s just say the vet didn’t see that one coming — but Bueckers made sure she won’t forget it.
