The NFL world buzzed after the Dallas Cowboys' defensive standout Micah Parsons went public on Friday with a trade request on social media.
It won’t be surprising if teams begin reaching out to see what it would take to land Parsons. The Penn State product has made a name for himself with 52.5 sacks and 256 tackles in four seasons, cementing his spot as one of the league’s best pass rushers.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox has the Green Bay Packers as one team that has the combination of draft capital and young players to entice the Cowboys to make a trade.
Normally, the Packers draft and develop talent while making shrewd signings in free agency. However, Parsons is young and among the elite pass rushers. Could Green Bay pass this opportunity up? Knox doesn't believe so, and here's what the Packers could offer:
Packers Get: Edge Micah Parsons
Cowboys Get: 2026 1st-round pick, 2026 2nd-round pick, 2026 1st-round pick, one of Green Bay's receivers
"GM Brian Gutekunst has traditionally preferred to draft and develop talent over paying to acquire it, though he's taken a different approach over the last couple of offseasons—signing the likes of Xavier McKinney, Josh Jacobs, Nate Hobbs and Aaron Banks. With $31.3 million in cap space, he might consider making a play for Parsons," Knox wrote.

Along with the draft picks, the Cowboys could be enticed by one of the Packers' receivers since they might not have room for all of them at some point, so Dallas can take advantage of this to improve their receiver depth behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
"Gutekunst could consider including one of Green Bay's young receivers as part of the deal," Knox added. "The Packers drafted Matthew Golden and Savion Williams in Rounds 1 and 3, respectively. Even with Christian Watson (ACL) injured, they may not have enough roster spots to keep everyone in a receiver room that also includes Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Malik Heath and Mecole Hardman.
"Moving an impending 2026 free agent like Watson, Dobbs or Wicks (restricted) might make sense for Green Bay. The Cowboys, who recently traded for George Pickens to improve their receiver depth, could be interested in auditioning another pass-catcher."
It will be interesting to see if, at some point, the Packers decide to use one of their many young receivers in a potential trade, whether that's for Parsons or another player in the future.
