Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson had a moment to forget in his side's loss to the Dallas Cowboys. In the first quarter, Packers quarterback Jordan Love heaved a ball down the field to Watson on 3rd-and-20.

However, Watson dropped the ball and missed the chance to put the Packers inside the Eagles’ 10-yard line. Following the game, Packers-centric account 'IKE Packers Podcast' posed the question on X (formerly Twitter),

"Looking back…should Watson have caught this?"

Christian Watson replied,

"Yes."

Watson didn't hesitate to take accountability for the missed play, and he'll be looking to build on his two catches and 45 receiving yards performance. The Packers' offense struggled to get going against the Eagles.

Jordan Love summed up his side's performance on Monday Night Football. He said,

"We are just kind of shooting ourselves in the foot right now, getting in a funk of having some good plays and then not building off them properly and having a play that might hurt the drive and we can't overcome it."

This was the Packers' third loss to the Eagles since the start of last season. The defending champions improved to 7-2, while the Packers dropped to third in the NFC North with a 5-3-1 record.

Christian Watson and the Packers are aiming for the NFC North title

The Green Bay Packers are in a tight race for NFC North supremacy. The Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears are first and second, respectively, with 6-3 records, while the Packers are in third place with a 5-3-1 record. The Minnesota Vikings are at the bottom of the standings with a 4-5 record.

The Packers are looking for their first divisional title since the 2021 season. They looked to be cruising earlier this season, but their offense limitations have overshadowed some impressive defense from Micah Parsons and Co.

The Packers are one of the few elite teams in the NFL that operate a wide receiver by committee system. Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Matthew Golden are getting similar targets from Jordan Love. This seems to be yielding mixed results in the 2025 campaign.

However, the Packers still have ample time to fix their issues and power to a deep postseason run. Their next game is against the New York Giants, then they'll have three consecutive games against divisional rivals.
