The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly in talks about a trade involving a two-time Pro Bowler.
According to Easton Butler of Packers Report, Philly and Green Bay are having discussions about a trade centered around defensive lineman Jalen Carter.
Butler notes that nothing is imminent, though, and other teams are talking to Philly, also.
"The Packers and Eagles have continued dialogue today regarding DT Jalen Carter. Nothing is imminent, but other teams have called today as well about the star DT," Butler reported on Monday night.
As far as possible compensation is concerned, Butler did not provide the details on that, but we would assume Philly will be looking for a Day 2 pick, at least.
Trade rumors about Carter have been swirling since the Eagles extended Jordan Davis last week.
Carter is extension eligible this offseason, but the idea is the Eagles might not be keen on paying big money for two defensive linemen, which could make Carter expendable.
Philly doesn't have be in any real rush to pull the trigger on a trade involving Carter, though, because he has two more years left on his rookie deal when including the fifth-year option.
In Green Bay, the Packers never replaced Kenny Clark upon sending him to the Dallas Cowboys in the Micah Parsons trade last season.
Green Bay also unloaded defensive tackle Colby Wooden in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts, which made their need up the middle more dire.
